DOMINATING THE AIR AND
SPACE POWER IN THE REGION

The roles of air defense combines at least three core roles of air power. The main task of air defense is to enforce Indonesian sovereignty in the airspace of national jurisdiction, both from the threat of intrusion of foreign military and non-military aircraft, and acts of terror and crime that use air space.
The territory of Indonesia is crossed by the zero latitude line or commonly known as the equator or the equator. The current security environment in Indo-Pacific is incredibly complex, with multiple actors, issues and trends coming from within the region and outside the region. One of its main features of it is the maritime and air power as the result of geopolitics and geostrategic dynamic changes. This session discusses the current security environment in the region and how it give impacts the air balance of power in the Indo-Pacific.
